Description
Riesling Landwein from Langfuhr, an idyllically situated orchard directly on the Mosel, surrounded by forests and fields. Only accessible via a cycle path and a wealth of peace and quiet. Also found by the famous painter William Turner, who travelled here in 1839 and captured the monastery of Wolf in watercolour. Impression: ' The Ruined Monastery at Wolf', Joseph Mallord William Turner, c.1839 | Tate .
The land is characterized by Devonian slate which retains the heat of the day well and through which the rainwater quickly drains. The roots of the vines dig deep into the earth during the hot summer months when the topsoil dries out. A dry and mineral Riesling from the well-known Bunches with a soft salty edge.
In the middle of the centuries-old cultural landscape of the Middle Moselle lies the wine village of Kinheim-Kindel. The Celts and Romans already used the ideal climatic conditions to grow wine in the region. The soil of weathered grey and blue slate gives fine fruit aromas and stimulating minerality to the wines produced here. Wines from Kinheim are rarely heavy and alcoholic, but have a delicate scent and are contained in their salty and cooling taste. The Romans knew why they were tending their vines here. Since 1978, Rita and Rudolf Trossen have continued their efforts for natural viticulture. By working completely biodynamically, they promote a healthy natural vineyard.
Since 2010, Rita and Rudolf have dedicated themselves to making natural wine. As few interventions as possible: nothing in, nothing out - no additives and no filtration. Without sulphur as a stabiliser, the wine develops completely differently in aroma and taste and reveals hitherto hidden depths and finesse. The wines lie on the lees until all biological processes have been completed.
