Description
Purus Hubertus, from the Purus line, without additives, unfiltered. Named after the young Frankish nobleman (655 to 727), who, after a short period in Paris, began to study the vineyards around the Mosel in Metz. Defeated by the early death of his wife, he moved into the surrounding forests as a hermit. There, after meeting a reindeer with enormous antlers and being visited by the Holy Spirit, he converted to Christianity. Hubertus then became the most important founder of various monasteries in Flanders and Wallonia and the first bishop of Liège. The monasteries were known for their exuberant wine consumption. Religious ceremonies, as medicine for the weak and sick, for in the kitchen and with every meal, simply for pleasure or for a boost on difficult days, you name it. A true elixir of life. It is therefore no wonder that these monasteries always settled near good wine villages.
And so, Purus Hubertus, a wine of higher spheres.
100% Riesling from 40-year-old vines. In the heart of the Hubertuslay orchard, the vines are close together, allowing the roots of the vines to dig deep into the earth and absorb water from great depths.
A wine with a spicy freshness. Lively and with a nice thickness and a very fine mouthfeel. In the nose, mirabelle, lemon and grapefruit. With a little extra oxygen, this tasting palette only expands further with dried plums and associations of cinnamon and cloves. Beautifully balanced and all relaxation. The higher word is out.

Winery Rita & Rudolf Trossen
In the middle of the centuries-old cultural landscape of the Middle Moselle lies the wine village of Kinheim-Kindel. The Celts and Romans already used the ideal climatic conditions to grow wine in the region. The soil of weathered grey and blue slate gives fine fruit aromas and stimulating minerality to the wines produced here. Wines from Kinheim are rarely heavy and alcoholic, but have a delicate scent and are contained in their salty and cooling taste. The Romans knew why they were tending their vines here. Since 1978, Rita and Rudolf Trossen have continued their efforts for natural viticulture. By working completely biodynamically, they promote a healthy natural vineyard.
Since 2010, Rita and Rudolf have dedicated themselves to making natural wine. As few interventions as possible: nothing in, nothing out - no additives and no filtration. Without sulphur as a stabiliser, the wine develops completely differently in aroma and taste and reveals hitherto hidden depths and finesse. The wines lie on the lees until all biological processes have been completed.
