Here is our suggestion for a pack of three. Just a tad more daring but nevertheless very familiar. A wild mouse, a juicy red and a greasy white. Sounds like an ideal evening, right?
1.) Umbria "Glu Glu" pet-nat 2021 - Mani di Luna
100% Trebbiano, fresh and funky with a soft fizz. Since 2012, Mani die Luna has been working completely biodynamically in the vineyard and in the cellar. The grapes are picked by hand and destemmed and pressed by women's feet in an old vertical press. Spontaneous fermentation with own yeast, minimal sulphites.
2.) VDF "De L'Aube a L'Aube" 2018 - Château Lestiganc
Full and candied merlot, together with the freshness of the Sauvignon blanc. Sounds a bit confusing, true. Best not to think about it too much and just let it happen to you. A bit Rock&Roll around the edges, but with just the right amount of juiciness, bursting with red fruit and a light perlant. Do not store, drink immediately.
3.) Beaujolais "le Blanc" 2021 - Jean-Claude Lapalu
You don't often come across them, white wines from Beaujolais, but here we have a very fine one! Chardonnay from granite soil. 2/3 matured in barrel and 1/3 in stainless steel. A real Chardonnay with aromas of white fruit - peach, pear, quince - and floral with acacia and honeysuckle. A gastronomic wine of great freshness, with a beautiful minerality.
