Description
Columelle, named after Lucius Columella, a great figure in agriculture from classical Rome. It is also a tribute to the founder of Domaine Richeaume, where he not entirely modestly bears the title of "the Columelle of Provence". Try saying no to that. A complex and harmonious red wine of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Temperanillo, 13% Merlot and 45% Syrah. Well-concentrated juice with an intense aroma and taste of dark, ripe fruit. Now finally perfect to drink, goes well with food.
Domaine Richeaume is managed by Dr. Henning Hoesch (art lover, philosopher and famous cellist and pioneer of organic farming in France) and his son Sylvain. Together they produce beautiful wines.
The farm has been working organically for decades, and now biodynamically. The estate uses only manure from its own flock of sheep, and compost is made from its own grape residues, among other things. The vineyards are located in Puyloubier and cover 25 ha.
A holistic approach, natural winemaking and biodynamic cultivation in the vineyards are for him conditions to be able to produce wines of very high quality.
