New in our range: Domaine De Souch. At the foot of the Pyrenees around the Atlantic Ocean at an altitude of 332 meters above sea level. This is where the crystal-clear, tight wines of the Domaine De Souch house are produced. Winemaker Yvonne Hegoburu was 60 years old when she decided to start making wine here in 1987. She was one of the first to work completely biodynamically in the region. Today she has 7 hectares of land, the vineyards are south-facing and are largely planted with Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. The vineyards have been fully biodynamically certified since 1994. The yields here are low, never more than 25hl per hectare and the soil consists of heavy "flinty'' clay called poudingues , this combination ensures intense wines with a high acidity and special minerality.
The dry wines like this "Cuvée Domaine" are fresh, refreshing and energetic but can age beautifully due to the fantastic acidity. The "Cuvée Domaine" is a bit tighter and more mineral than the "Cuvée Monplaisir".
A fine wine with oysters and other shellfish, but also young cheeses, poultry or summer salads and antipasti.
