Description
Jacquère and Altesse from average 50 year old vines from salty clay and limestone soil. Lightly smoky, subtle floral and citrus aromas. Flint, peach, citrus zest, narcissus and lemon balm. In the mouth a lot of filling without becoming really heavy, ends with a lot of freshness and minerality.
Grapes are selected by hand. High planting density, 8000 vines per hectare. Aged in stainless steel, little filtration and very small amounts of sulphur added.
The young Adrian Berlioz is now a very sought-after and beloved winemaker from Savoie who works with great dedication on 5.5 hectares of land in the municipality of Chignin. The soil here consists mainly of clay and limestone. Since 2012, Berlioz has been working certified organically. All plots are worked as naturally as possible without the use of herbicides, chemical pesticides or other synthetic products. Most vineyards are on very steep slopes, often with a slope of up to 50%. Yields are kept low at an average of 40 hl/ha.
