The flagship of the Herbel house with grapes from the La Rue aux Loups plot in Rochefort sur Loire. Crystal clear Loire Chenin with an enormous mineral character and full of life. Yellow fruit and soft tropical tones and gastronomically versatile. Finely aromatic and delicious with salmon, ceviche or a nice goat cheese.
This small 3 ha estate in St.Lambert du Lattay (Anjou) has been run by Nadège and Laurent Herbel since 2005, formerly Les Vignes Herbel. Since 2018, however, the estate has been entirely owned by vigneronne Nadège and in 2020, as a significant step, she launched her three own Nadège cuvées, with more planned. The estate is fully biodynamic and the vinification is natural. The vineyards are located near Anjou but are deliberately labelled vin de France, because, so rightly, it is about the wine and terroir and not about the appellation. She mainly grows Chenin Blanc there, with in particular 0.3 ha of very old vines, planted between 1920 and 1921, as well as 1.40 ha of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from 1974. In 2020, she also planted part of Pineau d'Aunis as an independent vigneronne .
