Description

Renéixer, or 'reborn' in Catalan, is a robust Spanish red wine from Gratallops, Priorat. Garnatxa is the dominant grape and only 20% of the wine has had 5 months of wood aging. Make no mistake, the wine is still very robust but at the same time has an elegant softness. In the nose aromas of violets, ripe red fruit, spices, black pepper, toast, liquorice, cinnamon and red cherry jam with a long and deep finish.

Mas Igneus was founded in 1996 as a joint venture between Poboleda Cooperative, Albet i Noya and Voed. In 2004 Mas Igneus left the cooperative, but continued the collaboration with a number of dedicated organic wine growers from Costers de Poboleda. Mas Igneus was the first winery in the Priorat region to produce organic wine and now consists of 3 estates, Costers de l'Ermita (where the central wine cellar is also located), Finca la Salanca and Cornellars.
