Description

Dolcetto, the little sweet one. In Piedmont, people drink Barolo for special occasions, Barbera for the weekend and Dolcetto for the week. The Dolcetto from Conterno gives dark red fruit, spiciness, fine acids and fine-grained tannins. Delicious with bucatini all'Amatriciana.

The winery, which was founded by Diego Conterno in Monforte d'Alba between 2000 and 2003, is actually much older. Diego had already been active for 20 years with his cousins Claudio Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino. Today he is helped by his son Stefano. The vineyards grow Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta. Since 2006, the vineyards have been cultivated organically and partly biodynamically. The vineyard is located in Monforte d'Alba on the hillside that bears the name "Ferrione".
