Description

The latest cuvée from the couple in the series of four completely newly developed cuvées under Nadège as an independent vigneronne. She buys the grapes for the cuvées in question from Elisabeth and Grégory Nouteau of Domaine du Verger in Faye d'Anjou. The labels are based on the paintings of Nantes artist June Leeloo, who reminded Nadège of a universe imbued with beauty, elegance, delicacy, sensuality, softness, poetry and magic.

You hear it, the bar is set high.

Never mind, seems to be no problem for Nadège. S'aimer is a wonderfully tight, aromatic white wine with a very high gastronomic content. 80% Chenin blanc and 20% Sauvignon blanc from a terroir of shale and clay. Clean, elegant and a slightly wild edge. As always a well-known selected quote on the bottle, ' Aime la vie, la vie t'aimera ' A. Rubinstein. Should work with "S'aimer".

This small 3 ha estate in St.Lambert du Lattay (Anjou), formerly Les Vignes Herbel, has been run by Nadège and Laurent Herbel since 2005. Since 2018, however, the estate has been entirely owned by vigneronne Nadège and in 2020, as a significant step, she launched her four own Nadège cuvées, with more planned. The estate is completely biodynamic and the vinification is natural. The vineyards are located near Anjou but are deliberately labelled vin de France, because, so rightly, it is about the wine and terroir and not about the appellation. She mainly grows Chenin Blanc there, with in particular 0.3 ha of very old vines, planted between 1920 and 1921, as well as 1.40 ha of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from 1974. In 2020, she also planted part of Pineau d'Aunis as an independent vigneronne .
