As early as 2012, Peter Jakob Kühn was nominated for the Gault & Millau title and in 2016 he was voted 'Winzer des Jahres 2016', wine producer of the year.

The Kühn family has been involved in wine growing in the Rheingau for over 230 years (since 1786). Peter Jakob is the 11th generation, and daughter Sandra joined the company in 2005. The knowledge of the impressive terroir consisting of phyllite slate and Taunus quartzite (these are definitely two nice ones for the next Scrabble round), has been passed down from generation to generation and further studied. The family therefore works with enormous respect for nature, terroir and tradition. Since 2004, Peter has cultivated his vines and vineyards according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. If possible, all cuvées undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Unmanipulated, lively wines that reflect their origins and their own identity

Doosberg, Lenchen and Klosterberg are the vineyards from which this wine is composed. The selection of the 3 top parcels creates a powerful, balanced Riesling. In addition, all of Kühn's vineyards fall under the VDP, Der Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter , the oldest national association of top wine estates worldwide.
