Description

Fine fresh, slightly sultry Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and a little Chenin Blanc blend. Delicious vin nature thirst quencher! Juicy and fresh-round and straightforward. Aromatic with notes of white peach and citrus, tropical fruit and green herbs. Thanks to the beautiful ripening of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes and the 12 days of skin contact of the Semillon, a soft, mineral and slightly orange from the Périgord is created here. A case of serve to the 'orange wine aversion type'. And while you're at it, add game and grill pieces of pineapple, nectarines or apricot on the barbecue and serve with good quality mozzarella or goat cheese. Glass of Blizzard on the side, everyone is happy. A piece of fatty salmon is also very successful.

In the heart of Périgord (Dordogne), right next to Bergerac, we find Château Lestignac. The winery has been run by the young Camille and Mathias Marquet since 2008. The couple took over the château from Mathias' grandparents, after which they immediately introduced biodynamics. On their 7.5 hectares of private land, they now cultivate the land completely biodynamically and work with local grapes as much as possible. The approximately 40-year-old vineyards are planted on different soils: a clay-limestone plateau and various limestone slopes with flint.

When disaster struck in 2017 and the entire harvest of Chateau Lestignac was lost to frost, Camille and Mathias decided to look for winegrowers who farmed organically/biodynamically, but did not make wine themselves. They discovered a world of cool winegrowers who did not have access to a cellar to make or store wine. With these farmers and their grapes, they started the company Hors les Murs ('Outside the Walls') in 2018, where they work as marquet négociants . The couple wants the process to be clear and transparent. For example, the name 'Lestignac' no longer appears on the bottle and it is honestly stated where and from whom all the grapes come.
