Description

Aromatic scent of ripe black fruit, a hint of toast. Black fruit, earthy and spicy. Pleasant long finish.

The wine estate is owned by Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau. This couple is also owner/winemaker at Château Moulin and Château Moulin-Pey-Labrie in Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac. All the wines they make are dominated by Merlot and have a very good price-quality ratio: pure and powerful, beautiful in smell and taste.

The vineyards cover an area of 3 ha. Soil of clay and limestone, fine-grained sandstone. Average age of the vines is 65 years. Manual harvest of fully ripe grapes and destemming. By growing grass between the vines and aerating the soil, they create a soil rich in natural micro-organisms, so that the vines are optimally nourished.

Fermentation of approximately 3 weeks at controlled temperature. Oenologists: M. Rolland and C. Veyry. Maturation in oak barrels for 18 months. 30-50% new barrels. Unfined and unfiltered.
