Description

This Bouzeron Blanc 2019 is a lively, fruity wine, but it also has a finesse and roundness, characteristic of the terroir. The 2019 harvest suffered terribly from the spring frost, which left only 30% of the harvest. But what was ultimately harvested are still gems. The liveliness of the wine is, as always, caused by the special marl-limestone soils of Bouzeron. Rich, round and lively at the same time, the mouthfeel fluctuates between richness and roundness and a salty presence. And this tasty combination makes the wine extremely digestible.

All so beautiful and in such small editions and therefore, 1 bottle per person. Share fairly.

The beautiful Domaine de Villaine can be found in Bouzeron, situated in the Côte Chalonnaise, south of Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay, north of Rully and Mercurey. One of the most beautiful parts of Burgundy, so to speak. The monks of Cluny planted vines here as far back as the early Middle Ages.

Thanks to the many hours of sunshine in the valley and the superior terroir, characteristic wines of very high quality are produced here with a long tradition. We only see Aligoté here, the somewhat (unjustly) neglected child of the Chardonnay grape. Bouzeron is unique in this: it is the only village in Burgundy where this variety is grown exclusively on the slopes.

As early as 1730, the historian Abbé Courtépée praised in his Description du Duché de Bourgogne the characteristic character of the Aligoté: dry yet delicate, and distinguished by roundness and finesse.

The vines are grown exclusively on slopes, between 270 and 350 metres above sea level. The poor soils have a high limestone content which ensures good yield control and the warm microclimate promotes the ripening of the grapes. The very small surface area of the appellation makes the AOC Bouzeron one of the 'secrets' of Burgundy.
